How it works
Four steps, from a comment on a post to a number the team can act on.
1. Someone commentsSomeone comments a keyword on a Notches Sewing post or reel, such as the word shown in the video. Every comment is captured, so the team can see what arrived and why it did or didn't match.
2. They get a DMNSEW sends them the link they asked for as a private reply, within Instagram's and Messenger's rules: one automated reply per comment, inside the messaging window.
3. The link is trackedEach message carries a short link unique to that delivery. Bot fetches and repeat taps are filtered out, so the click count means something.
4. Orders get attributedOrders in the Notches Sewing Shopify store are matched back to the post and message that led to them.

- Why did I get it?
- You commented a keyword on a Notches Sewing post that offers a link, or messaged its account. NSEW only ever replies to people who wrote first.
- Where do the links go?
- To Notches Sewing's own videos, patterns and shop. The short nsew.shop link counts the click, then sends you straight on.
- Will I get more messages?
- Only what you ask for: one automated reply to your comment, and the links if you tap its “Send me the link” button. The team may also answer if you message the account yourself.
- Can I have my details removed?

How it handles data
NSEW handles other people's comments and messages, so it is built to hold as little as it can. The Privacy Policy has the detail.
Official APIs only
Connected through Meta's Instagram and Messenger APIs and Shopify's Admin API. No scraping, and it never sees anyone's Instagram or Facebook password.
Inside the platform rules
One automated reply per comment, only to people who commented or messaged first, and only within the window Meta allows.
Private by design
Access tokens are encrypted at rest, click records keep only keyed hashes of IP addresses and browsers, and there are no third-party analytics or ad trackers.
No customer details
Orders are matched by the link that was clicked. Customers' names, emails and addresses are not stored.

NSEW is Notches Sewing's messaging and sales-tracking tool. It connects to Notches Sewing's own Instagram professional account and Facebook Page, replies to people who comment on its posts, and measures what happened next.
It is built, hosted and maintained for Notches Sewing by Rahul Simi. It is not self-serve software, and only the Notches Sewing team signs in.
